there good postpartum community-based care too? I ask because friends
in England have had a rather terrible experience with no support AT
ALL (theoretically there is meant to be one visit from a community
midwife), they didn't find out that their baby wasn't gaining weight at an adequate rate until three weeks after she was born.
Here in Finland we get a bopx of baby stuff from KELA, the Finnish healthcare system. It's really great and the whole idea behind it is that it provides everything you need for a new baby. With that aim in mind, the box itself is designed to work as a cot, coming complete with a foam mattress. Not sure how many people actually use the box for that (we didn't), but I have seen a kind of rocker-extension pack in some shops here.
