I do love a canopy over a bed, the romantic drape of fabric appeals to my inner princess, what I don't love is the idea of paying crazy money for a canopy crib that will need the canopy removed as soon as the pookie can stand up anyway.
Trust Martha to have a solution.

She has a how to for this sweet little crib canopy, complete with birdie.

And while I'm not convinced of it's shaker credentials I love the elegant simplicity of it. To make your own you'll need:
Two woven fabrics
A 3/8-inch dowel one-third as long as your crib
Twill tape
Sewing supplies
Four screw eyes
Mounting anchors
A drill
Monofilament
Adhesive-backed Velcro tabs
And to head on over here for the skinny
