Babies in sunglasses are super cute. Fact.

According to the clever folks at the College of Optometrists (UK) looking cute isn't the only reason that pookies should be wearing shades. They say that exposure to UVs in sunlight can cause all kind of long-term problems like cataracts and age-related macular degeneration and that the problem is worse for those with big baby blues.

I had no idea, and it turns out that I'm not alone. A study commissioned by the Collage found that most parents "aren't ensuring that their child's eyes are protected in the sun".

It also turns out that wearing cheap (non UV filter) sunglasses are "worse than none at all because the pupils will dilate allowing more harmful rays into the eye".

So, sunglasses are a good thing. Now I just have to figure out a way to keep them on my Bear's head (that doesn't involve duct tape). A wide brimmed hat should do the trick too.
