I don't know about you, but I have nursery rhymes embedded pretty deep in my brain. Practically at a subconscious level (they're back there with the Willie Nelson lyrics and 80's TV jingles). I want my bear to have the same innate knowledge of Little Jack Horner, Miss Muffet and the whole gang (yep, even the creepy ones), and as someone who is a visual learner I think that good illustrations are the key.

I'm hoping that Gyo Fujikawa's Mother Goose, with it's soft and slightly kitsch pictures will burrow into Teddy's brain (not literally), so that he'll be able to tell his kids about a moon-jumping bovine without even thinking too.
