UV stroller sunshades might be the solution to the hat issue. I spotted one of these on a stroller in the park yesterday and was all "oooooooh clever". It's the Protect-a-bub, compact sunshade.
I instantly raced over to grill the mommy about it, her response was 'it's great'. Extra shade means not worrying about keeping track of a hat, the mesh panels means a nice breeze still blows in and that the pookie can still see. It also means not having to worry about slathering sunscreen on a baby who is less than 6 months (it's not recommended). So yay all around.
The Cheapest I've found them is $24.99 on Amazon (but they don't ship to Canada, so BOO)
