We make and freeze our own baby food, it's super-simple, economical and Teddy likes it a lot; but boy do we go through ice cube trays. I buy the BPA free ones from our local kitchen shop and while they don't look like they're made of fairy wings and spun crystal, but we break them ALL THE TIME. Well, by we I mean my sweetie, I'm pretty sure I heard him mumble "Hulk SMASH" as he cracked the last one into three pieces whilst trying to extract a cube.
So non-breakable ice cube trays are the order of the day, and if they just happen to be in exactly pookie portion size, well so much the better.
The Beaba Multiportion freezer tray, is a little expensive at $19.99 from Williams-Sonoma but I think its unbreakability will work out cheaper in the long run, also, it kind of looks like a flower and that makes me irrationally happy.
