Pigeons, Not as Cute in Real Life.

I don't have a lot of love for pigeons; to me they're cannibalistic, flea laden, balcony pooping, feathered pests, to be avoided or shooed. As a life-long city girl I know this.

But Teddy doesn't. He, to my horror, LOVES pigeons. He yodels "BeRRR" at them and giggles. "Teddy, those are rats with wings" I inform him, but he doesn't appear to care. In the spirit of 'can't beat 'em join 'em' I've rounded up a few pigeon themed items:

First the hilarious Don't Let the Pigeon... books by Mo Willems, starting with Don't Let The Pigeon Drive the Bus.

The (OK, completely adorable) pigeon of the title is a master sophist, reasoning, bargaining and pleading for the chance to drive the bus "I tell you what: I'll just steer,". Other titles include Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late and The Pigeon Finds a Hotdog.
I have so far managed to resist the lure of the TALKING (!) softie version of the eponumous pigeon, but he really is VERY cute.

The next pigeon related artifact I have magaged to dig up is the The Pigeon Lamp by Ed Carpenter for Thorsten van Elten.

They come in a variety of colours, and their clamp 'feet' mean they can perch on their own wires. The $125 price tag make them some rather fancy birds though.
