You might want to sit down. I've been doing a bit of research with a view to starting an education savings plan for Ted.
Now, Ted may not want to read literature at Oxford or U of T or Dartmouth, and I would be just as happy if he wants to be a carpenter or a pumber or a pilot (like the rest of his family!) but I absolutely want him to have the means to go to university if he wants too. Now for the scary part...
The Mutual Fund Education Alliance predicts that in when our babies are heading off to school it will cost... well an arm and a leg... And these are only the 2023 figures, so it wil be even more.
Four years at a Public, in-state school are projected to cost $161,463
an Out-of -State public school is projected to cost $241,054
and...
wait for it...a Private school is projected to cost $331,059
Figures that frankly make me feel like barfing through my hands. How is
everybody else feeling about this? Got any plans? Or ideas (that don't
involve a casino heist)?
Dartmouth green, from here
