Hammocks are brill, who doesn't love to sway gently in the breeze all comfy and ensconced? These hanging fabric cradles give your baby an early start on their obsession with uh, 'hanging out'.

As well as looking completely awesome it's Danish makers have some pretty interesting claims about the rocking of the cradle helping premature babies gain a sense of balance. At $338.29 it's on the seriously pricey side, but cool? yup.
Next up is the Hanging/Standing Cradle by Kindekeklein, 179 euro (about $240)
I love this photo and the whole Swiss Family Robinson Baby thing they've got going on here. Sigh... beaches... I digress. This cradle is hand-made in Holland and priced in Euro but they'll deliver to anywhere. There are lots of really cute accessories available, (like the shade in the picture above) and this rather adorable Hanging Branch
The whole contraption bounces on a spring as well as swinging. And this version stands as well as swinging making it useful if you're in need of a travel bed. It comes apart and has it's own handy travel bag (yay for multi tasking!)

Price quoted for Leander cradle includes the 21.5% VAT (value added tax) that does not apply outside of Ireland. So the actual cost is closer to $260 - The exchange rate is moving around a lot, obviously, so this price is a bit of a movable feast.
