Naming Ceremony - Invitations

My sweetie and I aren't religious at all so a Baptism or Christening for Ted wasn't something we felt comfortable with, but we wanted to do something special to mark Ted's birth, and a non-religious Naming Ceremony followed by a party seemed just the ticket. Being the Curbly type's that we are we wanted this to be a very handmade affair, with everything from the invitations to the cake being made with care by either yours truly or good friends.

We had planned on having this shindig sometime vaguely in the future, but just by chance both my mum and my sweetie's folk's will be here at the same time. (Yay for the Traumatic Brain Injury Society Convention!)

The trouble is that this very rare window of opportunity is SOON. The 2nd of November soon. And we didn't find out until 3 days ago. Cue panic... And frantic invitation design.

Here are the results:created on: 10/08/08

I used a pack of Strathmore blank greetings cards, my rather swanky new printer and some swearing to get the layout right.

The image of the little fellow on the swing is adapted from a free Dover Design Sampler image that I saved ages ago.

If you haven't the time to design your own invitations you can find lovely ones like this created on: 10/08/08

here.

Next up are decorations, a menu and an order of service. Yikes.
