How to Make Baby Kimonos

Baby Kimonos

Baby kimonos are simple to sew and take next to nothing in material to make, so they're a great project for those new to clothing construction. Here's a couple of links to some great tutorials to get you started!

First, Martha. Her little tie at the shoulder number is as cute as cute can be. And because the ties are out of the way, babies won't be pulling at them. Martha reminds us that they can be made long or short, in lightweight or heavier weight material, which means they're the definition of versatile! Follow this jump for the directions. Suited for 0 to 36 months.

Habitual's darling kimono pattern is sized for 0 to 24 months. The details are marvelous! Although the pattern shows us how to make our own seam binding, purchased binding could work too. But the custom binding does sort of 'make' the design! For the PDF of the pattern, click here.
