Make a kiddie doctor bag for less then 3 bucks!

If you foresee your offspring going into medicine rather than construction, then you'll want to make her a doctor bag of her very own. This idea comes from Amber at The Brush Barn. All the items you'll need can be found at the Dollar Store. Amber made two kits for about 5 bucks. Now that's a great investment into your child's future!

Of course you'll want to consider the child's age, but here are some suggestions for assembling 2 play-doctor bags:

  • 2 pencil pouches for the bags themselves ($1 each)
  • 1 ace bandage (Amber cut hers in half)
  • 1 box of band aids. ($1 each, divvied up)
  • 1 sheet of white felt for an 'examination table' (.33, cut in half)
  • a medicine dispenser for giving 'shots', like from kids Tylenol, which Amber had on hand)
  • a little container--which could be an old film canister or a small prescription bottle--of Smarties

Read more about the project, visit Dollar Store Crafts. Oh, and if you don't need two doctor bags like Amber did, no worries. Save the extras for replacement supplies!
