How to Turn a Wall into a Chalkboard Wall

When I was about 5 years old, I took an indelible marker to the wall. Thankfully, it was in my parents' basement, so it wasn't THAT big of a deal...but still. Markers on any wall is a no-no. Chalk on a chalkboard wall however, like the one picture above, is sublime. Especially if that wall is the child's room or--better yet--a playroom. Laura's how-to over at Ohdeedoh explains how you can achieve fabulous results like she did. To get you started, you'll want to assemble the following supplies:

  • chalk board paint
  • power hand sander
  • sand paper
  • painter's tape
  • paint roller
  • paint brush
  • canvas tarp, or plastic sheeting
