Wee Baby Stuff

Cozying up with a blanket on a cool night is one of life's simple pleasures. I love the very thought of a crisp evening, a warm cup of cocoa and a blanket. Lucky for babies, they spend the majority of their early days wrapped in a blanket, no matter the weather. There are so many delicious blankets out there in every fabric and color imaginable. Below are a couple of my very favorites, for the wee ones.

1. Little Giraffe Chenille Blankets. These blankets are beautiful and so soft it's almost unimaginable. The mother of a friend of mine used to work in a shi-shi designer baby shop that carried these blankets, and on a visit she mentioned that these blankets were their best-sellers. I don't know if a cozier blanket exists. Their standard 29"x35" size is available in many colors at Baby Chic 101 for $57.95. The smaller security blanket (size 14"x14") comes in several colors or duo color combinations (mocha and white paired with a color of your choosing) and sells for $29 at Layla Grayce.

2. Robbie Adrian Luxury Organic Blankets. These blankets are top of the line, and in a word: delightful. They are made from 100% ceritifed organic cotton velour or 100% organic cotton fleece. And if that weren't enough, they are trimmed with natural silk in matching hues. But don't let the luxury overwhelm you, these blankies are meant for babes, so they totally expect to be spit up upon and tossed in the washer and dryer. The trim comes in straight or ruffled trim, with a polka-dot or a solid trim. Prices range from $44 to $118, and come in three different sizes.
