There are some beautiful hospital gowns out there designed for mothers who are looking for a more comfortable and stylish alternative to the traditional hospital gown. However, if I've learned anything from my prenatal classes it's that the big day is a big mess. Therefore, I plan to stick with the traditional hospital gown for the birthing process. Although I love the thought of being comfortable and cute as we bring our little wonder into the world, I am a realist - it's not going to be a pretty process.
Once baby girl arrives, I am interested in finding something comfy, roomy, and presentable to wear around the hospital. There are many options out there that I am considering. The Aimee Bra-less Nursing Nightgown seems like a practical option for its simplicity and functionality. The gown is made from soft cotton and lycra (for stretch). The gown has bust support, a flattering empire waist, and a modest below-the-knee length. The Aimee gown is available at Amazon for $39.95. The line also makes a robe that looks pretty cozy; it sells for $49.95.

Another comfortable option is Japanese Weekend's Maternity-Nursing Sleepwear. Made from cotton and spandex, this number promises to be perfect before, during and after the hospital. This set is available from Tummy Style for $54.00.

For a January baby, this flannel nursing sleep set from the Gap may be just the ticket. For $39.50, the price is right. The Gap also has several other nursing staples (like this bamboo nursing cami) that will come in handy post-baby.
