How to Make Dollar Store Nursery Art

The Masked Mommy snagged some canvases in the dollar bin at Jo-Ann fabrics and turned them into sweet nursery art.

What you'll need for the project:

  • dollar bin canvases
  • acrylic paint (light blue, brown, medium blue and white)
  • black fabric paint
  • paint brush(es)
  • white glue
  • felt, in various puppy and puppy collar colors

The canvases came with a pre-printed paint-it-in-yourself image. MM just painted over the image.

Next came the dots, which she popped on to act as a 'frame'.

And if you think those cute puppies are painted on, you'd be wrong. MM simply cut their shapes from felt. She glued them onto the canvases with plain old school glue.

Finally, she finished them up by 'dotting' the pups' eyes with black fabric paint.

Because Masked Mommy had most of the supplies on hand, the final cost of the project was $3, the cost of the canvases!

This project was just one part of a nursery decor makeover. To see more images of it, follow this jump.
